Despite my below comments about our hitting, it did improve over the Mets game. We tried to talk and work with the guys about being more aggressive at the plate. I saw that tonite. I didn't see guys backing out, and we were getting our hacks. Hits will come if we keep that up, and don't go back to dipping, and backing out, and other stuff like that.
Also wanted to point out something that happened to our opponent, that we preach about to our guys. On the game ending hit by Jerald, their right fielder first came in on the ball, then it went over his head, as we all saw. We tell our guys to step back first, better to have it fall in front of you, instead of over your head. And you saw what over the head did, Jer was off to the races. So remind the guys, step back first, don't step in first.
